Cemetery to Mark Gettysburg Anniversary Monday, July 1

News Release/Media Coverage is Invited: 
Gettysburg- the Civil War's biggest, bloodiest and most significant battle- will mark its 150th anniversary on July 1-3. Charleston's Magnolia Cemetery, which has one of the South's largest Confederate burial grounds, will mark the occasion with ceremonies on Monday, July 1 at 10:30 a.m. to honor both the Southern and Northern soldiers who lost their lives in the epic battle.

Wood Storks Are Back!

Many different types of birds, large and small, visit the ponds and grounds of Magnolia Cemetery. In recent weeks, Wood Storks have been seen more and more frequently. In this photograph, two storks are perched on branches over the front lagoon. That's the Rhett obelisk monument in the background.
